calling all quacks -students elbow /bursitus -elbow (olecranons)
I banged my elbow in a fall a fourvweeks a go. No bruising or pain. The a week later a fluid 'egg appear on my elbow (outer tip). If a raise or ice it or apply a compression bandage it reduces but is taking weeks. I the (or rather nursing practionioner) said it was infected so no immediate concern.or pain..
If any one else had one of these, what was your course of action.
How long , what how etc...
*lancing is out of the question. Infection risk..synovial fluid

I hope you think you know, what I might of exactly meant.

I had exactly the same. Eventually went down gradually, but it took a few weeks.
Mine wasn’t infected, just fluid build up.
I didn’t have any pain so was able to carry on as normal

Hi, ThanksQuacks for sharing your out comes.
It is slowly going down, now it feeling a little tender inside. It seems more responsive to applying ice which I neglected to do . But now, but it easier to apply a bag of seasonal snow) . A tubular compression bandage and elevating it on a pillow at night also seem to be helpin
.
So the [/rest*][ice][compression][elevation]
*No elbow rest, except when asleep.
(No sléep until bedtime? Aka bestie boys?)

Wow it was cold yester day.. that I noticed it has gone down just like that ! Yay
Skiing in a glorified industrial sized fridge for a few hour, in the morning ..
Then climbng in a cold climbing gym.. I was there for a 3 hour and only felt warmed up for the last hour, but good craic with mates!

Update.
Firstly thankyou for asking dlovett.
Edit: how's your MCL, is that knee issues?
The swelling has almost completely gone down.
It is a little tender if touched, a little puffy. But generally ok. So I may have bruised the soft tissues.
But practically it's been sorted for the last 2 weeks.

MCL is three weeks ago today. Mainly normal walking and stairs etc. I turn over in bed without moaning and yesterday I managed to fully rotate a pedal on the gym's bikes and so promptly did a 5 minute ride slowly and carefully. No issues from that and did a 6km walk fine this morning. Still can't straighten the leg as much as the other one, but, thanks to the exercise sheets from the guys on here, it's getting better now. Another 5 days in the gym this week, building it slowly up again.

Take it steady.
Progressive loading (pedaling or walking) but resting is just as important.
Does heat improve circulation the reducing repair times?
-It might be worth investigating....
The stretching to get back flexibility can wait

Well this week has been more pedling, weight loading and stretching on it and so far so good. It also is still getting hot and cold treatment and ultrasonic/IR massage several times a day. I accidently ended up running today for a short distance at a low speed and so far so good. I am hoping to mainly rest it from any workouts over the weekend and see how another gente run goes on Monday. It still can be unbelievably painful if bent/twisted the wrong way, but normal movements seem to be ok now, just no sudden direction changes.

funny how we get out on our, adventures and take fitness and pain free movement for granted. Then over cook it then realised how much we ask of our load bearing or moving parts to take this abuse quietly and effortlessly.
