For Fatbike Fans
I would normally restrict this to the UK Fatbike forum but it appears its gone for good so the Fatty haters on here will just have to look away
Anyway Surly have tweaked the Ice Cream Truck https://surlybikes.com/blog/move_over_push_pop
The main difference is the change of BB from a crappy press fit to a threaded one. Plus welded drop outs, bent seat tube and no more wee link tube twixt seat and top tubes as per all new Surly's. Makes an ace bike more so. If I hadn't been through so much with my own I'd be mightily tempted. In fact I am mightily tempted anyway....

Re: For Fatbike Fans
When I saw this the first thing I thought was how is love to have shared comments on the revised ICT on the old fat bike forum. I really enjoyed that place. Oh well...
Yeah, the rumours were true about ditching the PF BB.
I'd love one to accompany my Pugs.

Very pretty
Re: For Fatbike Fans
Many parts of it remind me of our Krampussies. Krampies? Krampuses?
Gosh...
Anyway, if it's got some of the 2017 onwards Krampus' gene's - and it looks like it has - it'll be a fun and comfy ride and big improvement on many fatbike geometries.
Definately the right direction.
Even just the 440 mm CS

I hope so!Fat tyre kicker wrote:Very nice....fits 29x3.5" in the rear......does anyone make that size yet ?
Crux 'duros getting close at 3.25"
Very much in the vane of the new kramp just as the original ICT was an old kramp that fitted 5" tyres
Re: For Fatbike Fans
Sort of related I guess, but would there still be interest in a UK based fat bike forum? (seeing as the one many of us used looks gone for good)

Re: For Fatbike Fans
Sounds good to me. It was quite pleasant in there.Solo wrote:Sort of related I guess, but would there still be interest in a UK based fat bike forum? (seeing as the one many of us used looks gone for good)
Better weight than wisdom, a traveller cannot carry
Re: For Fatbike Fans
Would definitely be interested. I miss the old site.Solo wrote:Sort of related I guess, but would there still be interest in a UK based fat bike forum? (seeing as the one many of us used looks gone for good)
May satan walk with you
Re: For Fatbike Fans
I've never run a site but I am very tempted as I miss the old place loads.
Re: For Fatbike Fans
I guess a lot of people have migrated to the FB group. However, good as it is, it's not a forum and doesn't feel the same!

Re: For Fatbike Fans
I was a regular on the old site too, not a big fan of Facebook, preferred the forum,
As with Stu's excellent site here. There was talk of transferring the archives to a new domain
But don't know if that's still possible, I know some on here know who to speak to about it ?

Re: For Fatbike Fans
If there is interest I know someone who can host a forum, if someone on here can see about acquiring the archives then we can look into putting it back online.

Sounds like a plan.johnnystorm wrote:If there is interest I know someone who can host a forum, if someone on here can see about acquiring the archives then we can look into putting it back online.
It was useful as a resource and for friendly banter (like on here).

Re: For Fatbike Fans
IMO a forum works 'better' than the FB group. Stuff is easily lost in the depths of FB posts but a forum can tell a story from a thread.
I'd love to see the old forum resurrected as there's years worth of memories and knowledge in there. However if there is no way of it coming back to life then a new forum it is.
I could ask some questions as to what's happening with the old one.....

Jason Liddell is probably closest to knowing what's what. I very much doubt that the archives will be made available but would happily help support a new forum.
Re: For Fatbike Fans
Anyone else hearing 'build it and they will come' from this thread?
