bum bags

Post by Asposium »

there was a thread on bum bags recently, done a search, can't find it. Grrr

looking at the use of a bum bag for delicates (phone, camera, satellite tracker etc) and valuables (wallet, passport, tickets, keys etc)

if someone can find the original thread it would be appreciated.

that aside, any views on this as a concept....

I use a bumbag for those things too (and bog roll!) nothing fancy though, just a cheap small one. I just put things in zip locks in the bumbag for waterproofing.

I've had no problems with the roll-top.

The waterproof Lomo one is good. Obviously, it's fairly basic but it is completely waterproof and fairly stable. Very hard to find any fault especially at a tenner.

It's worth adding that the external "floating" pocket on the Ortlieb is the perfect size for a Spot Tracker.

I've got the Lowe Alpine one and I like it. It's got a zip compartment on the outside for wallet/keys and also a separate zipped section inside. I use that to store my paper back-up map printouts, it's out of the way but also flat so they don't get creased. It's not completely waterproof but I doesn't fill up with water either.

I had an issue with the straps slipping over time as I rode along, maybe I don't have the belt done up tight enough. I solved that with some extra tri-glide buckles, scroll to the pic of mine for details

I've still got the spares if you get a one and want to add the extra buckles.

The raidlight bag is one of these

https://uk.raidlight.com/organisation/2 ... lour-black

I've got one each side. I can get a snack out of my feed pouch on the handlebars, eat it and then stash the rubbish in the one on the belt, all without stopping. When I pass a bin its simply a matter of emptying out the rubbish bag. Before, when I used to put the wrappers back in the feed pouch occasionally when I got a snack out an old wrapper would escape, which I'd then have to chase round in the wind to pick up
