It's a wee bit out but have you tried Lagganlia Outdoor Centre? They have lodges and wigwams. A crowd of us used to go.there every New Year when we had our kids with us.

glenmore lodge in rothymercus does accommodation as well as beeing an outdoor centre, but sadly the pine martin bar accross the road (use to do a great new years bash) is closed due to the owners suicide. but think the glen more lodge outdoor centre has a bar

I know you said you didn't want to go in your camper but we spent New Year at Glenmore campsite a few years ago and it was great. It was in our old van (a VW T4) which had no built in heater. It snowed while we were there but we had an oil filled radiator and a hook up so we were toasty. I'd struggle to think of a nicer place to spend New Year tbh. Very sad to hear about the Pine Marten Bar, it was a quirky place but we've often eaten there and used the shop over the years.

it does and its open to the public + does good food but seeing as its set up more like a function suite id be surprised if they are not doing a ceilidh or something for new years .but think the glen more lodge outdoor centre has a bar
Re: After some accommodation for New Year in Aviemore anyone
I’d call Glenmore Lodge, they helped me in the past, they have a list of B&B they use as overflow. You can still eat & drink at the lodge.

Nice spot and easy access to a lot of single track in the woods.

Yep - there's a full run down the mountain available at the moment with the snow cannons and the new Snow Factory running full-time.
However, we are due for an increase in temperatures from Sunday onwards (up to 7C) which could strip it bare if all goes badly.
Longer range forecast is for more wet/stormy weather between Xmas and NY. That's a bit far off yet but might, in any case, still bring fresh snow to the tops.
Loch Insh is pretty good. Let me know if you want a suggestion for some trails in the area. You are handy for Glen Feshie, plus there's the lovely wee viewpoint at the Uath Lochans for a nice walk/easy ride.
Aviemore does a decent fireworks. At midnight it's the Cairngorm Hotel (kicked off by Spud the Piper). About 15 minutes after that the Macdonald Resort does theirs.
