Another fact, the Morrocan police in Tangiers use two metre lengths of it to beat beggars off the beach. I've seen it with my own eyes.

Random fact, blue poly pipe should onlt be used for the below ground conveyance of potable watet (water bylaws) so for beating beggars (or scaring cows) one should use black poly pipe which is uv resistant

If ctznsmith doesn't want it I'll have it please.

I need to make some new cloches for my garden veg plot over this winter and I can use this poly pipe to make the arches.

Thinking about it the maximum likely diameter is going to be ~ 60mm which is too small* for my use. John it's all yours.

*Anybody got any spare drain pipe? :-bd

PE80 (poly water pipe) is listed in my brochure from 20mm to 1000mm. These are external diameters as that's how plastic pipe is measured. Depending upon the pressure rating the wall thickness does vary but for a 20mm pipe it's about 2.5mm and at 1000mm dia it's about 63mm. If you want a piece of drain pipe then I'm guessing that you're after about 110mm dia? The wall thickness is 10mm for this size. If you know someone who works for a civil engineering or utilities contractor they may be able to get you an off cut provided it's not too long. One of the benefits of PE pipe is that it can be joined by butt-fusion where the ends are heated by metal plates and then the two bits are forced together and they fuse together, so no fittings are required at a join. The downside of this is that any off-cuts on sites tend to get joined up and used rather than just slung out for us to re-purpose.

True. I worked on a cattle station in central Queensland for a few months and on musters we were all armed with four foot lengths of black poly piping to batter the cattle into the different pens as they came through the runs. Worst. Job. Ever.

Or don't. :-bd
