Re: Kona Remote
For those either unwilling (get off your arse you lazy tw@t) or unable (good on ya) to fully pedal under their own steam, it doesn't actually look bad. However, I assume 'Remote' can't be too far from a plug socket?

Re: Kona Remote
B+ in Yoo Ess Eh but 29er over here. Boooo.
(Edit: PB link shows that but konaworld lists both
Assume its the colour that's different, nope re-edit video says the yanks get pkus tyres! )
Looks like a normal bike or perhaps it just doesn't look wierd as it hasn't got stickers over every square inch like a Cube.
Maybe I should upgrade the big dummy for child hauling purposes....

Re: Kona Remote
Excuse my ignorance of Ebikes, but does the chain ring rotate at a different speed to the cranks? As it's got a 14t front ring I also spot sliding dropouts so single speed is possible

Re: Kona Remote
Remote as in remote control? Like K.I.T.T. and 007's cars?
Even makes me think of Jolly Jumper...

Re: Kona Remote
Maybe the advertising deparment should have used something like, 'Remote - not as far as you think' or 'Find remote - it's at the end of an extension lead'?

Secret stash of what? Too stoned to ride home, need an e-bike??The Remote’s Bosch Performance Line CX motor with 500w battery and Purion display provides class-leading power to access your secret stash or your local singletrack.
Re: Kona Remote
I finally have a problem that's solved with my solution of putting charging stations on all the wind turbines dotted around the hillsides these days.

Re: Kona Remote
No, rotates the same but is something to do with a) the chainring needs to be smaller for the motor b) I think they assume the user won't be pushing the cranks too hard (if you want e bike and push the cranks, then Yamaha will suit you better IMHO).sean_iow wrote:Excuse my ignorance of Ebikes, but does the chain ring rotate at a different speed to the cranks? You don't tend to run out of top end gears, but you do hit the limit of 25kph quite easily if you try. Trick is to spin the gear and you'll be grand.
A nifty feature of the motor means you can back spin the cranks and the chain doesn't move

Re: Kona Remote
A pal has got an e bike for various reasons and she has used it on a few short bikepacking trips with great success. She plans to go further afield using cafes and Band B's or hostels for re-charging. Plus a good way of humpfing a canoe somewhere (or a cairy oot)
Re: Kona Remote
I was contemplating an e bike so I can do a longer than otherwise commute if I move ...
