Good - was going to offer you mine but not due into Tyndrum till about 7:45. Any idea where everyone will be - (who aren't off for a Mike Hall drink?)

Looking at the forecast - damp start tomorrow by the look of it. But not that bad compared to Achfary where the forecast is 2" of rain in about 6 hours!

Good luck out there everyone :-bd

We were maybe 25 or so there. Everyone dining time and last minute faffing.
Cheers for the offer.

As many of you may know, this is Steve's third attempt at the race and he has suffered much misfortune in previous years. Therefore can I ask that the other riders treat this veteran with the respect he deserves by not attempting to overtake him on the trail or out sleep him. That would be properly disrespectful and rude. He can get quite violent as well so the best advice is to hang back and enjoy the view. On no account should you try to overtake him.
I shall ensure that I am not in a position to overtake him, ride faster than him, or beat him in any way.

My apologies go out to Rich Picton for me suggesting that I won't win.
Thanks Dave, I have brought a long ladder that I have tied across my panniers to help people stay behind me. I might let Mr Sheldon pip me to the line though :-bd

The question now. Is there enough light for Tom to finish tonight? Or has he eaten enough carrots?

That is great, they will finish for the start! I did that last section at a similar time of day last year. it is straightforward but tough as well! I hope there is someone at the finish line for them. It would have been an amazing ride today. So chuffed they are doing it and so close to the end. Very jealous of the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction they will be bathing in over the next few days. Prepare for two very happy chaps incoming :-bd

If the small one could have a cuddle from someone on my behalf - That would be vaguely exciting. It is an amazing thing they have done and difficult to remember he is only 12. I know when Rich did it he looked so battered at Glasgow Queen Street even the smack heads avoided him. Ok it has taken Tom more than one attempt but it just goes to show if you want it enough it can be done.

I got up early to see them at the finish. I even gave Tom a hug for you! They crossed the line at about 2.10, waaaay past his bedtime! Amazing achievement. The youngest rider record will stand forever!
There are now two dirty bikes here at the campground amongst all the clean ones.

Thanks

12 years 4 months- it should be safe for a while.

Good luck to all those starting - I will remain glued to the dots. It is such an exciting race to "watch" I may have to let Rich have his log on back so might be strangely silent...... Or undergo a name change.
