Remember you'll need a wide sealing tape with the 33mm internal width.

Being a no-tube noob, a couple of questions;

I've got these wheels, do I need to remove the rim tape that's already in there?

Do I have to use new tyres, given the amount of thorns that have been pulled out of the rubber over the last year?

Depends on the tape. If it looks like sticky tape then you'll be ok. If it has anything like normal rimtape whip it out and replace with tesa/gorilla tape.

Used tyres might have stretched and become baggy so might be a pain to seat. The thorn holes will probably just weep some fluid before sealing. Maybe pop some glitter in to help clumping.
