Aldi (crane) skull cap for under the helmet - Its thin and wind proof and the fleece keeps you toasty
Its only when you take it off you realise how warm it was without making you feel too hot

For bothy use it depends on how light i'm travelling / what ive got for comfort - if there is a fire I will sit there in my thick dry socks or barma sockettes
Crocs are good and comfy, but take space to carry

In case folks didn't know, Subway bags make excellent plastic-bag-socks... single use only and not very robust but they're narrow and long, better than a normal placcy bag. Also the throw away shoe covers you get for swimming pools etc

If you go on a long haul flight you sometimes (depends on airline) get a bag of toiletries/sleep aids/stuff which includes a pair of "slippers" so you don't get your socks dirty walking around the plane. They are good enough for shuffling around a hut - I used them in the house for about 6 months so reasonably robust.

I pray for the day when John Climber decides to use bothy slippers...

yes but if john used bothy slipper , his footsteps may not wake you,

Well the Nordisk Maos slippers have arrived and I've never had such warm feet. They come with a cool little travel sack that squashes them down quite small. Well worth a go if you want some nice slippers for home and bothy.

The PlanetX Merino hat also arrived and seems to make quite a difference under a helmet. Friday on Snowdon should test it to the extreme.

I've got winter gear for -30c but the worst forecast has been for -11c with windchill on the summit, so I should stay warm hopefully.
