A couple of times whilst riding road sections in the Southern Uplands I have passed a guy who still dresses and rides a bike similar to those in the first film. The first time I came across him I was gaining so fast on him that I thought he was a "non cyclist" out for a ride but as I passed him I realised he must have been at least eighty if not older and could easily have been a participant from that 1962 event. I must say more than "hello" to him the next time I meet him.

Saving this to watch with interest later since Newcastle is my adopted home and Northumberland my stomping ground.

Another reminder that seatpacks are nothing new!
