WTD: Bike transport bags/cases
Hi - we have a wee trip planned and will need to put our bikes into proper bags or cases for this one. Always bunged them in plastic bags before but it won't work this time for various reasons.
Looking for two cases or bags with wheels underneath please. Sizewise need to be big enough for one 26" MTB and one a 27.5" MTB, both 16" frames. Both are carbon so the more protection the better.
Cheers

Re: WTD: Bike transport bags/cases
borrow or buy?
can do the later not the former - used for a carbon frame 26" MTB
Not sure postage is a realistic option though as non folding

Re: WTD: Bike transport bags/cases
If you get stuck, I have fairly cheap soft bike bag (Wiggle or DHB or something like that). It's very well padded, but is heavy (~7kg on its own I seem to remember) and has no wheels, so needs carrying/dragging. I may need it in May but otherwise you're welcome to borrow it.
PS Have you considered hiring? Not necessarily a cheap option but if the bikes are valuable...

HI - sorry, I should have said it is for two months so hiring is not an option unfortunately.
Ooh - that is interesting RestlessShawn. Can I come and have a look sometime?

Yes no bother. You are welcome to just take them away and try your bikes in them no obligation. I stay in Lilliesleaf.Borderer wrote:HI - sorry, I should have said it is for two months so hiring is not an option unfortunately.

Postage isn't usually as bad as you think. What kind is it and how much would you want for it?Lazarus wrote:borrow or buy?

Cheers, that's very kind. We won't be back til the 21st of May though so probably won't work, sadly...thenorthwind wrote:If you get stuck, I have fairly cheap soft bike bag (Wiggle or DHB or something like that). Can you confirm the exact dates as three people use it - think its fine though
Its a hardish case [ but not a flight case] of black foam/material and fairly robust - I will check for the brand later
Re: WTD: Bike transport bags/cases
I have a Merida bag I use for my gravel bikes, plenty of room. Your more than welcome to borrow it. Postage would be around £13 with senditnow.
PM me your email address and I can send some pics over.

Thanks for the loan offers, very much appreciated. I am collecting Shawn's ones tomorrow so I will see how we go with those for now.
Thanks again

Just seen this. I’m in Edinburgh with an Evoc bag gathering dust and no upcoming travel. My rates are low - something suitably boozy.
Re: WTD: Bike transport bags/cases
Cheers Alistair. I have Shawn's ones here now so I think I will pass. Cheers though.
