SOLD Salsa Horsethief L / WTD: red Krampus L

Post by kazafaza »

Hey,

As much as I love my bouncy bike I'm just not using it enough to justify keeping it. It's the split pivot version in Large, green colour, with protective sticker on the downtube. It has a few small scratches here and there but no dings, dents or doughnuts. It comes with Cane Creek headset fitted, spare Works Comps 1* Angleset, seatclamp, bb and rear axle.

I would be willing to swap it for a Large red Krampus frameset or I can post it for £400.

Should you want more info or pics feel free to drop us a line on: kazafaza gmail com

Cheers,
T

What sized wheels will it take? And would it fit my shortarse frame @ 5'9" ?

[Edit: ignore my wheelsize comment...it's a 29er]

Salsa reckon that you would be better off with the Medium frame, however the Large is too small for me at 6'2" with offset post & 80mm stem. Mate at 5'10" found it to be a perfect fit for him. hth

Having to back out of this due to other bills. Someone should take this up...it's a nice pedal machine. I will, no doubt, regret my decision to pay bills instead of getting it and being restricted to eating Ramen for 2 months.

Tell me about it, Mike. If the bills had come in a week later, it would've been in mine!

Morning,

I'm currently gently nosing around for a replacement for my bouncy bike so I've got a few tentative preliminary questions about this bike.....

What year is it?

Is it the carbon or alu version?

And finally, the big one, would you consider swapping it for a lovely yellow Singular 'Rooster'?

I don't want to get rid as I bloody love that bike but I'm just not riding it.

Have got frame/fork only or full rolling chassis available if you've maybe got the forks on offer too? (Hope hubs, Hugo rims and Chupacabra rubber).

All this is all very speculative as I'm not even sure I would want a shorter travel bigger wheel'd bouncy bike for here (instead of the very fashionable 150mm 650b uniform bike everyone is riding) but it definitely appeals so thought it worth an ask.

Let me know your thoughts.....

Cheers, Gairy

Hi Gairy,

Thanks for your message! It's the alloy 2014 model, here's the link: https://salsacycles.com/bikes/archive/2014_horsethief_2

I'm gonna pass on your offer though as I'm looking for something slacker than the Rooster, i.e. newer Krampus. I might be tempted with something similar in steel, singlespeedable and with the head angle around 68*...

I might sell the frame with the matching fox fork if anyone fancy it.

Happy trails!

What are the forks? I may be interested in them on their own...
