Tentative here. Need to make my calendar work - but over 50% chance of me being there

Got a tentative yes from the Mrs about this. :-bd

Any more info on the route? Tempted to ride over to Rhayader on the Friday afternoon - but that's only possible if the route to the coast and back is gravel-bike friendly.

Not taken much of a look yet Chris. However, I can confirm that it'll be gravel friendly.

Thanks Stuart. I'll see if I can find my bikepacking stuff - not used it since last year's WRT.

Friday and Monday booked off work. When are you going to decide on the start/finish location?

Advance train tickets being cheaper and all that.

I'll get some details finalised and up at the start of next week ... either way, you'll have a ride from the nearest station

In the OP you mentioned Rhayader which is 10 miles from Llandridod or Llangurig which is 12 miles from Caersws.

Do you now have some other start point in mind that's further from the rail network?

Okay then, route is still in flux but ...

Meet at the carpark ( SN908798 ) in Llangurig aiming for a 10.00pm start on Friday June 23rd. Cars will be safe for the duration of the weekend.

The plan is still to ride through the night and arrive at the coast on Saturday morning. A leisurely day by the seaside on Sat, then turn tail and head back with a night out somewhere nice.

I know, you haven't finished the route yet, but ... which bit of the coast? It'd be a good idea (for me, not for you lot) if my wife and kids could come and meet me for a muck about on the beach at some time on the Saturday.

I'm thinking Aberaeron Chris - I figure it's not 'that' far, has shops and things and lends itself to a fairly interesting route avoiding busy roads.

Are we bivvying out or planning to hit one of the Nants on the way back?

Changes whether or not I bring tarp and poles. Though maybe it would be a good idea to bring them in case we have a change of plan...
