Hope you are feeling better sooner rather than later.
You'd better send me the GPX route then.
You never know what might happen now.

I'm hoping to bump into you guys at Aberaeron on the Saturday. I'll be riding in from the south east Friday night. Similar schedule to you Llangurig lot - ride overnight Friday night; breakfast, ice cream, fish & chips at the seaside; ride out to bivi and home Sunday. Waterproof jacket may be required Friday night but hopefully sunglasses, sun hat and sun screen on Saturday
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

I haven't left the damn house, still packing, can't find my GPS or my Exposure Diablo. bloody things

Also realised I don't have a spare 29er tube. I gave it to a mate on our last ride. If anyone has a spare they can bring for the ride I'll be most truly grateful. I can only find a narrow tyre tube which I'm hoping will work OK in an emergency

Made it to Caersws. Going to have some food and then a slow ride down to Llangurig.

I appear to have a cold all of a sudden. Oh well too late to worry about that now.

How did you guys get on? Missed you all in Aberaeron but I got there pretty early at just gone 07.00 after a mizzly drizzly ride. Managed to find an insomniac lady who's baguette and coffee shop was already open for bacon baguette and coffee - I found this place when I saw the full-sus e-bike parked outside; the 70-something lady rider was just getting a coffee! Managed an hour or so shut eye out of the wind in a sea-front shelter to be woken for a chat by a motorbiker from Manchester. Time for a proper breakfast and catch the end of the Lions match then decided because of the dull and not particularly warm weather to start the journey back around about 11.00. Lazy riding stopping for a couple of coffees along the way, one at Llanerchaeron where I bumped into an interesting chap named Gordon who runs a bike-hire business there and one at Llangeitho where I had to stop to overcome the shock of seeing a roundabout in the middle of a tiny Welsh village! Then pushed on all the way back to my van near Llandovery rather than bivi out. Thoroughly enjoyable ride along some new-to-me lanes, great idea, must do it again.

psling we didn't get there till 12oclock because of burty's incompetent bike mech, we had torrential rain and holed up at claerdu bothy where we split up some wanting to get there heads down, and we carried on, was hard going but we made it, we did look for you but obviously you had left sorry we missed you,

Bearbonesnorm wrote:The plan is still to ride through the night and arrive at the coast on Saturday morning. A leisurely day by the seaside on Sat, then turn tail and head back with a night out somewhere nice.
According to the time stamp we achieved all objectives. Although there could be some debate

Thanks to burty, paramart and jay91 for 100 miles of fun and banter. Not so sure it it should be thanks also to benp1 (Ben), windjammer (matt), scattamah and Ctznsmith (Ben) for short-cutting to Nant Rhys to roll out their sleep mats in the best bunks

In all a great weekend away, with all types of 'FUN" but next year Stu, can you plan for the week earlier in the sunshine??
