Peak based winter bivy (the week after the proper ones!)

Post by ianfitz »

As thread title really. I'm not able to make the 'proper winter bivy' so will head out the weekend after.

Thinking Saturday lunchtime until Sunday lunchtime. Route, pub and bivy spot to be confirmed depending on numbers, motivation and bikes people will bring.

So far me and mike are keen but all are welcome.

If numbers stay small there's bothy options.

I could well be up for this as I can't make the real winter bivvy. Be good to meet up with a few people as well.

Oooh, I'd missed this. I'm currently planning on doing the northern one the weekend before, but the Peak District is virtually on my doorstep so it'd be rude not to do both…

Yup...have kept this weekend clear...looking forward to a post winter-bivvy winter-bivvy! Will keep me going until Twixmas. Peaks virgin here (I don't get out so much as y'all probably have realised by now)...so will be good to ride/push/carry somewhere different.

For those in the know...is it rigid or soft forks terrain?

I do the vast majority of my riding with rigid forks. It's a bit lumpy in places but generally fine.
