Blimey, I'd forgotten I'd put my name down for this. I'll be in Italy next weekend for a week, so not able to make it.

Growler, if you eant to use my place for someone else, please feel free. (Steve Large)

Thanks, and everyone else, have a good weekend!

I forgot I had my name on the reserve list, got an email late last week to say I was in.
Unfortunately can't make it now as well, so emailed the organisers letting them know.
Maybe next year

Thanks for sorting.

Doesn't matter what "purests" might think; it's a good excuse for a ride.

Don't use the R word.

Anyone from Hull (or area) going and what to share fuel costs?
Not sure whether going Fri ngiht or Sat morning.
Fri night might be fun if I can get organised during the week.

I was going to be going from Hull, but now can't make it. Sorry, that's not much help!

Spot on. The first climb out of Goathland and the Newtondale Singletrack would be a pain if we all set off at once, so we decided against a mass start. I guess we will all gather at the start and around the village, then head out in little groups.

Sounds a lot like WRT
Stu says “off you go then” or words to that affect.
We all faff for a bit, then slowly get our collective arse in gear.
Does sometimes seem “we” don’t do mass starts ...all too organised. :-bd

I was first at overnight camp
Have pizza, tea, cake, had a bikepacker wash, checked for ticks (found one on shoulder)
Sat on a sofa next to the fire
Have a new best friend .....the farm dog
Mainly I think he’s hoping for pizza

i visited 3 pubs on route, had a pint in each, took a few (local knowledge) short cuts, which turned out to no longer be short cuts, because nobody rides em nowadays, they all go to dalby.

was nice to meet a few off here. thanks for the pint Jase.

oh and i dragged my arse round 101 miles. :-bd

Si, have yourself a Top Hot for putting that route together and sorting out the camp & pizza, thoroughly splendid effort, cursing the push upto Rudland Rigg though X_X

Many thanks to the organisers for a great route and meet up in the middle. It was good to meet/ride with some BB folks too, including Rich on day 2.

My pals and I are already thinking of the next trip

That's my excuse anyway for missing it.

Thanks for all the positives guys, it makes the many 200 mile trips to the area to recce, sort stuff out all worth it. Didn't get much time socialize, it went by in a flash. But a million thanks for turning up. On that note....

I have mixed feelings on wether to run it again. It was quite a bit of effort and the costs etc. We had around 35-40 turn up, which out of 138 entries is a bit poor. Makes planning, parking, food, camping etc difficult. The village Hall is £120 a day for the parking, so we only just scraped over the line there without making a loss, and i'm sure Jinni invested in much more food and drink expecting 100-ish.... Its OK if you are charging, you can reach your break even costs quite easily, but when you have to make up the shortfall out of your own pocket it puts a different complexion on matters.

Glad you enjoyed it though, and thanks for the beers on friday and saturday (and the resultant hangovers) :-bd
