Plenty of warning ... WWB

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

I know it's early but I'm sat looking at the rain out of the window with the lights on ... feels like winter, so it simply reminded me to post this

This years Welsh Winter Bivvy will take place in Wales (obviously) with a more exact location TBC. The date for your diary is Dec16th / 17th which should hopefully produce a nice festive feel. As ever, all welcome ... you will need some warm kit (unless we get a prolonged Indian summer) and a sense of humour.

Stu, that sounds kinda like a challenge. I will shortly start a thread of the 2017 Chilterns Winter Bivvy. I think we need a theme this year. Any suggestions? Other than Christmas?
I'm just going outside ...

If it's a short ride, stick it in a rucksack

Any suggestions?
Wales generally just goes with the classic wet and windy but perhaps 70's glam rock this year or Planet of the apes?

You remember what happened last time we had a prelude? ... No, then let me remind you

We found the worst push in Wales.

My legs decided not to work for the first 2 days.

We spent a night under armed seige.

It rained more than I've ever seen.

'Twas windier than I ever remember.

We had to wear bin bags.

Our hands were so cold we couldn't take our own gloves off in the cafe on the way home.

So, yeah I'll see what we can do :-bd

Awwwww yeah. +1 Mike. Aside from the threat of death by hot lead at the hands of the locals (type 3.5 fun), the rest of it was rather good, albeit a bit damp.

I've been thinking about that push...and doing it again. It's the descent off the other side that has me hesitant...now I've seen it in the daylight. Darkness can be a wonderful thing sometimes.

Scott, i'm also up for that push again although as we've mentioned before i'd like to try it as a descent. Would be much fun :-bd

I wonder whether there might be a cheeky way to gain the ridge without having to push up from the road?

Would need some reccying that stu I reckon but maybe worth a punt from the ridge the way I said that once would mean a hike up from the bwlch over to Dinas? Be a beast of a push though
