Cheap bibs

So I currently only own one pair of bibs which I'm having to come home and wash each night to wear the next day on my commute. I'm thinking I might buy a couple of cheap pairs to see me through the week as I can't afford to be blowing £80 a time on altura for running up and down to work. Can anyone recommend bibs at the lower end of the market that will do for daily commutes up to about 20 miles? probably looking for one pair of shorts and one tights

If you can wait, the Aldi ones are surprisingly good (their higher end one, not the really budget one). It's as good as my Gore ones

I wear one pair of bibs for 2 days of commuting, then wash

For shorter rides I rate decathlons own brand bibs. Frequently discounted too. I picked up a couple of pairs for 20 each.

They are fine upto four or five hours in my experience. Wash well and are compact if you need to carry extras

I have somr basic Polaris ones that are often cheep in chain reaction, comfortable enough for short bikepacks etc

Decathlon Btwin bibs for me, got mine for 22 quid on offer for the Aerofit 700 style.

Used for 70 miles plus with no issues, even on multiday rides.


Plus it matches the rest of my Btwin kit and ive printed my own vinyls on the arse with "f**k diabetes" so i definitely like them

I was waiting on you popping up saying something like that! I find them more comfortable than not wearing them and it saves me sweating up my work uniform.

Thanks all, might get a pair of decathlon and a pair of dhb to see how I get on with them.

I'll not knock a man's choice of pants. I was just asking, that's all ... it was something that had never occured to me

I'll wear some occasionally for my commute but it's usually going to be cold morning and night for it to happen. Leg warmers are more usual as I can wear them in the morning when it's cold but not for the warmer evening ride home. Also a third of my commute is along the canal tow path which can be pretty mucky so I get to work with clean legs (we've no shower at work).
