Rekon 2.8 or Chronicle 3.0? (in 27.5 size)

Any comments on either?

Rim is a Mavic ex729*

It's for a 67.5+er experiment. Been running 69er with a 29x2.4 Ardent up front, a slightly smaller diameter than that would be good probably

Don't need a proper mud tyre but don't want to die at the slightest hint of dampness either

*I know someone is going to say I need bigger but Mavic spec 1.5-3.0 tyres (int 29mm ext 36mm) and I need the ability to fit a 2.0 touring tyre

If anyone ever comes back and reads this a 2.8 Maxxis Rekon on a 29mm internal rim measures up at 2.6"...no idea what it would measure on a bigger rim. It's nowhere near the diameter of a 29x2.4 Ardent so I don't think it's the biggest 2.8 anyway.
