I spent many an unhappy hour on one of those in my youth (the rake, not the bike). Count one, two, three, four, five, pull the lever, crash, tines go up. Repeat 'til all the hay's in rows. Sore arris from the cast iron seat. Blisters from the cast iron lever. Ah! Happy days. Not!

Did you ever work on an old Binder? One of these -

Don't remember anything about this one, but I'd put my money on having taken it on Dartmoor somewhere.

I am very proud of this pic. Ok, maybe not the pic, but the subject. That's my little girl getting her pony into 9th place in the Open Classic class at the Pony of the Year Show last weekend. I dunno if the pic is good in terms of whatever makes a pic good, but the look of her face ... the strange mixture of determination, courage and fear ... I just love it. We don't own the pony - she's on temporary loan. I wish I had the money to buy her a competitive horse and give her the coaching she needs to win in the top classes. Ah well. Someone call the Syrians eh?

Awww, that's great 'dog! Nowt wrong wi' bein' a proud dad  . (although an MTB might be a cheaper option but no doubt you've already tried that ploy  ).

The hoss looks curiously unreal somehow. Like a plaster-cast.

PS. "determination, courage and fear" - probably pretty similar to us lot during BB events etc ;-).

Not a technically good pic, not the right time of day for light in the mountains either. But this pic was along time coming so I like it. Something I always wanted to see - Everest, from 5360m up during our Nepal trip. The bike didn't get this far, I left it ~600m lower and carried on up on foot.. and that was hard enough. I like the pic as it also me makes realise it's way past time to buy a better camera!
