Greg and orhers, please keep the pics coming.
I don't contribute to the thread, (and if you saw my pics you'd see why) but I really enjoy this thread, especially when stuck in a London office! And the discussion makes me think sbout photo-related things I'd not otherwise consider.

Not so much a gravel grinder.... more a gravel (mud and tarmac) groveller...
Re: Photos you have taken in the last month of which you lik
How about people just post photos.
They don't need to be about bikes, outdoors, even "adventures". Just photos, that you like, that you took.
I spend more time taking photos of mundane things because they interest or amuse me, that I will ever spend taking of bikes or rides.
It just feels like I'm the only one contributing - and I blow my own horn enough as it is - toot toot!

Keep 'em coming Greg (and others) - I enjoy this thread and am planning on posting more.... some not bike related..
This one pleased me (only a few hours into lessons and he's annoyingly too good! )

First post in this thread - all I seem to manage are sunset or sunrise pictures on my way to and from work these days...

Re: Photos you have taken in the last month of which you lik
I've just looked back over a few pages of this thread. In the nicest possible way (and I'll be funked if I can be bothered counting so don't be tempted to get all sciencey / STW on me ) but I'd hazard Greg's pics make up half of all the ones posted. So I'd say chill, it doesn't really seem like the contents is all "Greg-derived" (I'll be honest, I don't often *get* his eye, but each to their own ) and whoever fancies just keep them coming. It's all goodGregMay wrote:[url=https://flic.kr/p/GS5Dmz]
As this is starting to feel like the "photos Greg takes" thread. Unless others pick up on it, I'll probably let this die.
A shame, as I'm sure many of you get to places, do things, and see things far more interesting than I.
Re: Photos you have taken in the last month of which you lik
Ok - mixing it up again with some more UW photos - this time from Sabah province in northern Borneo a few weeks ago.
Oh - and if you dont 'get' some of Greg's you might be a bit lost with some of these (work harder you graphically illiterate lout! :) )
Tiny freaking hairy shrimp. Like 4mm. The vis was pants and the current hooning so this is a result as far as I'm concerned.
Fish soup
Crinoid waiting for food
There's more if anyone's remotely interested. Don't all shout at once.

Cheers Greg. Will try and post some more stuff later this weekend from Iceland. On the iPad Flickr won’t let you copy the whole BBcobe string?! Thus not being able to paste into a post

Jhn, very good photo. If you can dial down the lower left corner a bit, print it. It's good.
Oli - what setup are you using? Strobes? Surprised at that macro shot it's good.

Re: Photos you have taken in the last month of which you lik
Cheers Greg. It's an Oly EM1 mk1 in a Nauticam housing plus strobes. Macro is with Pana-Leica 45mm, which renders really nicely with butter smooth bokeh but isnt as tack sharp as the Oly 60m. The fish soup is Oly 8mm which is sharp corner to corner at nearly any distance in the right conditions. Sadly I dont get enough practice in these conditions (and locations), but I like trying. :)GregMay wrote: Oli - what setup are you using? Strobes? Surprised at that macro shot it's good.

Think scotroutes has said that, for Android at least, there is a separate 3rd party app you can get for getting the BB code from Flickr. Can't remember the name of it though...Gari wrote:Cheers Greg. Edit: on Android apparently this works. No help for iOS though sorry. https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... e&hl=en_GB

Ooh, I'm liking that last one Greg.
Glad to see that after everyone took the piss about my monochrome pictures, it's becoming a more popular style

One I've finally stumbled across today, Derwent Water. Not actually done everything about everyones watermark feedback yet, just been too busy, but I've not forgotten.
Greg: please don't stop, I like seeing your images. I'll try and post more over the coming weeks/months. Not been in the best place mentally the last few months which is why things have kinda stalled.

Don't think I ever shared this either. Self-portrait from a divvy on the summit of Helvellyn on the Aug bank holiday.

Hah, I rarely use colour for my personal photos. Don't see the need :)Bearbonesnorm wrote:Ooh, I'm liking that last one Greg.

Also thanks Stu. It was moist.
Re: Photos you have taken in the last month of which you lik
Keep them coming Greg. I do watch this thread, but probably don't comment much as I don't really have a lot to say. I take a photo a day, often they're a bit crap, and really it's more a snapshot of my life rather than a nice artistic photo (although I think they do happen sometimes.) I might join in occasionally if I take a snap worthy of contribution.GregMay wrote: As this is starting to feel like the "photos Greg takes" thread. Here's one that's a bit different:

Another from the trip to Iceland last week, back to the desktop so can paste the BBB code now.
This one taken on the end of the Snaefellsnes peninsula, just outside a small Kommune called Rif. Small tidal pool, water was rushing from under the broken ice as the tide dropped. Bloody cold!
Re: Photos you have taken in the last month of which you lik
Just one more from the trip. Again out on the Snaefellsnes peninsula, this time on the north shoreline, close to Mallarifsviti lighthouse.
For those interested; 3 stop ND over all, and a 1 stop ND grad across the waterline. It was shot midday, with the sun low in the sky and coming directly in from the right hand side, hence the requirement to cut a lot of light out!
About a 5 sec exposure @f11, plane of focus run across the pebble bank surface.

Good job there Gari, especially considering the mid-day sun.

Re: Photos you have taken in the last month of which you lik
Another from a few months back that I just got to.
Think this was shot with a 10-stop ND, but it may have been the 6-stop. I don't recall exactly now.
I just wish I'd shot it from a tad higher so the top of the last post doesn't hit the other side of the water. This is Derwentwater again, but from the other end to the last pier.
