POE peak elite ac

Post by thomthumb »

i'm thinking about buying a new mat - for tomorrow night. last minute as normal.

it's cold out and my 3/4 alpkit mat seems to go down over night.

any experiences of the pacific outdoor mat? is it noticeably warmer than the thermarest style mats...

It's a great mat, better R rating than the Neoair, and it's black

*ahem*, I'm selling my unused (apart from a few tests on the living room carpet) 2/3 Peak Elite. Just haven't gotten around to posting an advert yet (or perhaps I just did :D )

FWIW have used both the POE and Xped UL late autumn (POE on BB200 too)and in the snow this week. For me the Xped works best - I'm drawn to the POE's light(er) weight, funky design & stealth black, but in practise I've found it seems to deflate more (have tested for leaks knowing their history) and it just isn't as warm or comfy - not having my feet fall off the sides is just 'better' for me.

Interesting. Those leaks were manufacturing faults? How good was Exped's service? - was thinking about getting a downmat for v.cold since my synmat UL has so far held up well..

(sorry to hijack)
