have a look at the range of pots from muji. there is a little set of stacking pots that screw together, it's ace. I have that for camping stuff. There are 5 of them - I use it for salt, pepper, chilli flakes, mixed herbs and garlic granules

An 34T Absolute Black oval chainring. Tip for singlespeeders, the 34T from CRC is £5.50 cheaper than the 32T. So I run a 34/17 instead of a 32/16 as it's the same ratio but cheaper

It'll last longer (lower chain tension) and wear more evenly (prime number cog) too.sean_iow wrote:An 34T Absolute Black oval chainring. Tip for singlespeeders, the 34T from CRC is £5.50 cheaper than the 32T. So I run a 34/17 instead of a 32/16 as it's the same ratio but cheaper

First time we've seen the post man in a week and he brought some SAE for stickers and a rather lovely, handmade Ray Iles drawknife.

But more efficient as the chain links move through a smaller angle as they go round Perhaps a study into the extra weight v's extra efficiency is called for... oh hang on, it's a steel framed ss being dragged through endless southern mudZeroDarkBivi wrote:Heavier too...

Postie dropped off a lovely BearBones carbon pole for my Lunar Solo, with a bonus rubber end cap and three bad ass badges that are going on my framebag soon as I get home. Thanks Stu.
I'm just going outside ...

Any details on where you got it from, and what your initial thoughts are?Taylor wrote:Leaving my bike in the lap of the gods,

Initial thoughts are positive. I've hung a single bike from it vertically on the side of my van but the wife has the car today so I've not tried it properly on a roof driving down the road.

Some shiny new stickers from Stuart...
The revised colour scheme makes me think of Cadbury's Creme Eggs!
Probably good energy food on a ride thinking about it...

Not intentional Si but given the rapidly approaching time of year, perhaps apt? It must be all those 2 for 80p offers I'm confronted with every time I walk in the Spar. The revised colour scheme makes me think of Cadbury's Creme Eggs!

We're on a bit of a BearBones roll here. I just received a box with an RF stove, some Permavent and some cool button badges too. Very quick delivery (especially considering the recent weather issues). Thanks Stu.

Watch out for it on larger panels. A friend was using one on the roof of a mini and had to fit it on a diagonal as the flex was otherwise quite alarming. Even after correcting for this, I was never that happy driving behind him as the amount of rocking "disturbed" me. He never had any other issues with it, though he's now bought a larger car so he can carry the bike internally.

Re: The post man's been ...
I've got one of the 2 bike Seasucker originals that I got trade, still expensive though, I used it on MrsPB's Nissan and concur about the swaying from side to side, nothing to do with the clamping force of the rack but the thickness of steel used in modern cars is alarmingly thin. It's conceivable that at higher speed cornering forces, the rack could cause the body panel to fail like a tin opener.
Re: The post man's been ...
Just mount the rack inside the van - problem solved

On a Sunday, that'll be right.
However, I did pop into Mr Toops lovely emporium in Aviemore today and exited with one Cumulus 250 quilt. He tried to persuade me that the "Comforter" was potentially the better option but I'll give this a go, potentially along with my lightest down bag until the weather turns.

What shop is that Colin? I'm in Aviemore at the beginning of next month so need to know which gear shops to check out...!ScotRoutes wrote:On a Sunday, that'll be right.
