A Jamara Pro Star sealing iron has arrived for my packraft project. It gave off slightly alarming quantities of smoke on a quick test run. Hopefully that’s just a coating or something burning off and it’ll settle down. :???:

An Alpkit woodsmoke shirt. My wife suggested that wearing a shirt like that cycling is the kind of thing my dad would do and she was a bit worried.

I've taken to wearing shirts recently when cycling. Maybe a sign of age but I find them practical. I've been looking for an affordable merino one. This looks good.

I picked up some bamboo shirts last year from somewhere on-line. Very nice they are and they were only £1.70 each. :-bd

It's a synthetic but it has a nice little bit of stretch to it.

Bamboo for £1.70!!! I've just ordered some bamboo base layers and t shirts to, they were not cheap at all

I've just tried searching to see if I could find them again chaps but sadly, no luck. I know it was some unknown on-line camping outfit but can't recall the name, sorry.

Blimey. My favourite Highlander bamboo leggings are now £26! Were £17 last time I invested in loads of pairs. Same for the tops. Blinkin' greedy pandas cornering the market.

Add some gardening gloves, and you get this effect: https://m.pinkbike.com/photo/15760290/

As an aside, I’ve moved away from padded shorts. Just some merino or synthetic undies and a normal pair of baggy (but not too baggy) outer shorts. A lot less sweaty, and ultimately more comfortable. I’m thinking you’d get the same effect with a button up shirt on the upper body as you do with something loosely fitting below.

Perhaps includes some sort of royalty payment to Salsa for the name?

I had a Wildcat frame bag delivered as well today, attached to Wildcat Jnrs outgrown Islabike Beinn 20! Good old parcel force did try a neighbour as I was at work but they appear to have given the box a serious hiding in the process. I'm pretty sure it's all in there. :???:

Hope it's all intact. You'll need to rummage in the bottom of the box for a jiffy bag of all the bits I had to take off to get it in the box...
It was fully insured, so if anything is bent/ broken, let me know!

...and dropped me off a pair of Bonty tripleX bottle cages to replace the Bonty side entry carbon cages I've managed to destroy. Let's see how long these last and how well 16g of carbon holds 500ml of water bottle back on the rough stuff.

I saw numerous bottle cages explode when I did the road race last weekend.

I've had extremely good results with my Specialized Zee cages. I have them on all my bikes now.

Mounted one of the XXX up today - solid cage with solid grip. Will work well on the down tube where front entry is not an issue. I've had to source a side entry for the seat tube though. Just not enough clearance to access whilst riding.
