In a rather annoying twist of fate, i missed the postman and his delivery of an airshot cylinder today...... And then got my first pinch puncture of the year this evening.... Tubeless conversions x 4 tomorrow i think.

Good stuff Scotroutes, my first bike was a curvy SV650, although mine was the S, not the N. Had a lot of fun on it. Watch out for carb icing up your way when it gets cold, makes the bike cut out. You can get an additive called Silkolebe Pro FST to put into the fuel to help with that


I picked up a pair of brake pads for my Arkose commuter. I've done about 5k miles on it without changing the pads, blew the fluid on the front on the ride home last Thursday. Had worn through the backing plate of one of the pads, whoops!

New fluid and new pads - now feels great again!

I had to use it through winter down here in London, but that might mean April and October for you...! Particularly for early starts. I got used to bump starting it while it was still rolling along using the clutch!

Bleh, a bunch of orders seem to have disappeared recently. Getting a bit concerned that my new postie is lightfingered, because I've never had a single thing go missing previously.

I wanted a new knife so thought I'd treat myself to something nice and it arrived earlier today. Handmade, Damascus steel blade and bone / hardwood handle - 'tis lovely.

This is a little late as ive been too busy riding it to post about it, good thing i suppose...

Postman delivered a brand spanking new trail bike, Specialized Camber 650b womens!
(Yes i chose a womens bike, it fits better)

My first full suspension trail bike, for trail centers, bike parks and trying to keep up with my partners "Gnar" riding! 130mm travel front and rear, 27.5×2.4, 1×10 Sram with a huge cassette. A world away from my 100mm 26" hardtail.

Then a couple days later we walked into tredz and walked out with a SECOND Specialized camber for the other half, matching bikes FTW.

Since then ive had plenty more deliveries. Enduroguards for the forks, in "his and hers" colours, new grips, some tubeless valves, new side access bottlecages, tiny 550ml bottles, new riding socks, my partner bought new riding shorts for "summer" and im now officially utterly skint!

My old hardtail goes to my dad now so he can get into mountain biking, setup much better for him than his old bike, and significantly lighter.

All in a busy (expensive) few days.....

Meanwhile back to the mundane, the postman delivered some very nice alloy pin pegs, in a lovely anodised red and some nice ybeam pegs in a not so lovely anodised blue via a couple of ebay sellers all the way from China at silly money prices too. (Got the tips on this forum somewhere). So that's me pretty well set up for pegs to cover a variety of conditions now, also wanted some better pegs than came supplied with the Trailstar clone.
