Some Rab bargains at Taunton Leisure, including the absolutely brilliant Rab VR Alpine https://www.tauntonleisure.com/mens-vap ... acket.html

I have two favourite softshells for biking and this is one of them. Also use it for walking. Warm enough, breathable enough and moisture resistant enough for many conditions. great fit too - slim, long arms, nice hood, venting in the pockets

Cannot recommend it enough

Not if you go to Decathlon, I got one of these last september, wore it every evening of three week cycle tour and regularly since, liked it so much I bought another in orange colour, great value.

The Decathlon one looks like good value. I took a Uniqlo one to the US last year, I got it in the sale cheaper than the Decathlon. I spent 3 months wearing it,sleeping in it, it got used everywhere, I'm going to take it on a similar 3 month trip this year. It still smells OK.

Currently sitting in Cardiff YHA at £40 per night for a room to sleep 4 in 2 double beds, with en suite. Breakfast is a further £6.50. Me and her ladyship can sleep like starfish in a bed each  Not at all like my expectations of a Youth Hostel.

Cheaper options are available.

Free car parking too. :-bd

These days I look at Airbnb first. A quick look shows accommodation in Cardiff starting at around £20 a night, there can be a bit extra charged, for example a cleaning fee, the places I've used have all been very good.

If anybody is thinking about registering with Airbnb please PM me for my email address as a referrer. If you book I get £15 (I think) which I'll split with you.

At £40 per night for 4 people that's a tenner each. The free all day and night car parking must be worth a bit too.

Sneaked into the wrong bedroom Matt??
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.
