Any idea what those Discovery shorts are like? I've been after a pair of not-so-baggies and Expensive hipster brand have discontinued their Touring shorts.
Ha, yes .. Prism stuff is good. Disco shorts, no sorry. Not tried any PedaEd kit.
For plain and not flappy shorts I would recommend having a look at the Kalf Terra shorts at £50 rrp, not the same level of bargain if there's no discount going but currently my clear fave touring shorts over the R@pha and Giros - usual work related disclaimer etc, but I wouldn't ride 1100km on road in just over 4 days in them with just sports boxers underneath because of work loyalties : ) Used them for the TNR a few days after that ride and could still sit down in the cafe in Nice (and look at the Cafe du Cycliste shorts .. very nice but £££).
I really rate the PEdAL ED Kaido Jersey (esp long sleeve) for when it gets nippy out, was tempted to try those disco shorts but my default touring shorts are the ones from swrve. Had one pair for a 2 year trip, so they've earnt my brand loyalty

I wasn't aware of the Kalf range but those shorts do look interesting (as do some other items). Due to my Tesco card, and Evans vouchers, they might be just the thing.

Thanks.

PSA for Sawyer filter users and others that want a flat/packable bottle

Evernew ones are cheap on amazon - 1.5l ones for less than £7.50

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00 ... th=1&psc=1

Personally I prefer the wide mouth version from Nalgene but they're not so good for sawyer users

I suppose it depends if you think they are worth the normal price but Enlightened Equipment have announced their annual sale - https://enlightenedequipment.com/2017-holiday-sale/ 15% off ready made Revelations and 10% off everything else.

Edit: just going through the HMRC customs & duty pages. Looks like you pay 2.5% of the value (including the postage) then 20% on top of all that. Some workings (ignoring shipping costs):

Quilt: £214
Discount @ 15%: -£32.10
New price: £181.90
Duty @ 2.5%: £4.55
Running total: £186.45
VAT @20%: £37.29
Total: £223.74

So looks like you'd have to pay the courier £42 (duty + VAT) to get the goods released.

Worth keeping an eye on US "cottage vendors" at this time of year as it is their typical pre-Xmas sale time. I've had good deals on hammock gear from Warbonnet stuff (do top and under quilts).

The US hammock site, hammockforum.net has a vendors section in the (multiple) sub-forums which can help to identify who is doing what.

On-One have got Podsacs bar rolls for £13 and 12 or 16 litre seatpacks for £21 each in one of their multivarious sales. Not tried them, but spotted them while browsing earlier.

I just get an advert driven site from that web address hosted by a domain parking company, a quick check and it appears that it's "hammockforums.net", i.e. plural.

I think EE are good but I got hammered with a massive bill from DHL (their choice courier), which I am still trying to dispute as I think they are trying to fleece me...!

Edit:
Just looked at this again. From the DHL Demand, The breakdown was:
Duty @ 12%
VAT @ 20%
Disbursement fee =£11

So on an order that cost $220 (approx £174), I have been charged an additional £71, or 41% of the original value. Yes I am still bitter, no I won't be ordering from them again. I know they are only being honest, but some other US gear suppliers are a bit more 'customer friendly' with their invoicing.

Don't forget to tick no substitutes if you don't want them. Their cider section is excellent and near enough the same price as other supermarkets. Free delivery over £60 order not not delivery. This is for anyone who has not had a delivery before. You can of course get round the latter! For some reason photo won't up load.
