download a route and send to gps help

how do you do this kind of thing

the route has 324 waypoints but my gps can only take 250,how do you reduce the waypoints

I use Garmin Basecamp to reduce the number of waypoints.
You can then upload it to your GPS

Alternatively, use Basecamp to convert it to a GPS track rather than a Route and you then get around the 250 Waypoint limit. You lose turn warnings but can still see the track on your screen/map so you know if you've gone awry.
