The route across Russia looks to be slightly over 4000 miles. She said she's planning on averaging 180 miles a day, so that works out at 22 days to cross Russia. Should give enough contingency time but I dont know if she's made any plans for extending visas if she runs into problems.
Cheers! Couldn’t see how far it was on trackleaders

Simon Calder was on the radio recently and mentioned that there was no travel restrictions in Russia from two weeks before and after the World cup.
Will that help?

fantastic to see trips like these and best wishes.

Is Jenny on a strategy of sleeping in the day and riding at night? Or am I getting the time zones confused?

There was a tweet yesterday saying it was to avoid the worst trans Siberian traffic. Personally I thought the change might have been heat related.

I don't think she's got time for a blog Tony. There's occasional comment when she uploads her latest batch of rides to Strava and possibly the occasional bit on Twitter.

We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

She is checking social media from time to time and is loving reading people’s massages so drop her a line.

Looks like Jenny has almost made it to lake Baikal. Maybe only 1 more sleep in Russia before she's into Mongolia.

vaguely exciting riding!

Vedangi is now over half way round, She has had various issues with Visas etc.

She isn't providing anywhere like the same frequency of social media updates, though Instagram is where some are appearing.

FWIW she also seems to have a small "film crew" at various points in her journey. I know some folk would consider that as being against the "unsupported" ethos, though - as far as I know - the record doesn't differentiate anyway.

Looks like Jenny has a plane to catch. She didn't stop for more than a couple of hours last night. Still a couple of hundred km to get to Halifax and the flight to Europe.

Two 400km+ days to make the plane :o

I've lost track of whether she's on target or not. If so how many days is she ahead of the current record?

Edit: She's on day 111 and has 33 days to get to Berlin to get the record.

Unless she's taking a massively convoluted route I think 33 days to get from Portugal to Berlin is doable (approx 3000km or an average of 100km per day - neh worries!).

Amazing effort!!!

Well, she's through Paris now and going amazingly well but...

I really hope that all the well-intentioned and supportive people choosing to ride with her now don't negate her efforts in the record books. She's going to complete the ride well within the time it would seem but will questions be asked about the riders with and around her across Europe on the final leg?

There is no separate record for supported and unsupported . However I believe she is being very careful to ensure she remains within the "rules".
