Twin USB port plug

Post by Mart »

Need a plug to charge 2x USB at the same time. To be used in the UK, but if it has travel options (Nth Europe 2 pin and USA) then that's a bonus

Saw this on Amazon but wasn't sure - Has anyone got any recommendations?

see the MU one mentioned here. A few folk bought them at xmas. I bought one from someone on here who ordered a 4-pack as they were on sale. I liked it and so bought a 4-pack myself, as they were still on offer, to dish out to techy friends but have a spare if you want to go for it at cost. They are a bit spendy but I think worth it. Small and lightweight - TLS

Anker & Aukey are both good brands. They seem to be in a price war on Amazon at the moment with regular daft silly cheap pricing. Depending on what you want to charge going for a quickcharge rated one would be a good idea, but if your mobile/GPS doesn't support it then no worries.

Big thumbs up for the MU. Currently powering my Raspberry Pi and working a charm. Taking it to the US in May to charge my lights.

Also looking for a USB charger that works in the USA; loads of options out there, but most of them are very bulky for packing. Anybody know of a truly minimalist, compact solution, ideally with two USB ports, but one would suffice?

One thing with the MU which may affect your choice is that the single port tablet version charges at 2.4 amps, the Duo charges at 1.2 amps per port. It's possible to get higher output chargers if you need them. That said, I use a MU Duo and it's fine for phones.

Thanks for the steer. Perhaps I'm missing something, but the MU looks like it is for UK use - I need something for US sockets...

MU do a similar one with interchangeable plug parts. They ain’t as cheap but do work well.

This one with the changeable heads-

It's not perfect- the heads could do with being more 'positive' fit, but it's really compact & works well..
