One for you alt bar geeks

Post by Blair512 »

Just spotted the new Canyon Grail gravel bike, quite a weird bar they've come up with, got to say I quite like it though!

That bar would have being great on the TNR ... I washed my shorts in a stream and had no where to hang them to dry.

Thing is, it's not an alt bar - buy that bike and it's the only option you have. Madness. Or stupidity. Not sure

I saw that but the change in angle in the top tube, the short heat tube and the stupid flat stem means the bar is no higher than a normal sloping top tube road / gravel bike with a normal stem. And an aero gravel bike? Really??

Spoke to a friend who was on the presscamp release for this last week. Apparently it rides very well. Looks odd, but is ok once you're on the tops and hoods. Bit strange in the drops apparently.

Seatpost is nifty, if a rebadged Ergon post.

Just reading Tom Hill's (speculative guess he's Greg's friend) review of it http://grit.cx/news/2018/03/first-ride- ... those-bars

I'm all for genuine innovation, even use a Lauf fork myself, but there is only so much F.Ugliness and awful marketeers terminology I can associate with and this is the wrong side of that line...
