Camp entertainment of an unusual type.

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Please bear with me on this one ...... while doing a little research for a forthcoming 'Norm visits interesting places' ride, I've done some reading on Iron age hillforts and their inhabitants. Throughout my studies I kept coming across reference to the Celts use of the sling and without really realising I was doing it, I set about making one. Half an hour with some leather and a needle and 'twas done. A stroll to the river saw me armed with what appeared to be suitable pebbles and I was off.

I realise you're wondering what on earth I'm going on about and how it could have any possible bearing on owt. Well, it struck me that my new found toy would be the perfect thing to carry for those times when you've not much else to do. It weighs virtually nothing, can be screwed up and packed anywhere and is highly addictive - especially once you actually begin to get the hang of it.

I apologise in advance to anyone who happens to find themselves riding with me this year.

Is this to make up for the lack of pictures of a rabbit skin hat?

It's not happened yet, so I'm either really good or it's not as bad as you might imagine.

Yes but I'm only trying to hit things that aren't living.

This why I have a powerful magnet on a bit of rope.... magnet fishing is brilliant, and packs away nicely..... keep away from phones and cash cards though!!
