which power bank?

Post by barney »

sorry another "request for recommendation" post...

So I've decided to ditch the Spot and instead utilise my phone a bit more especially to start taking more photos as it has a nice camera.

Any recommendations for a semi decent power bank please that I might get a couple of charges out of on trips? Preferably one able to take the odd bump and use in "Welsh weather" but is still reasonably small and light.

cheers
Wait for me...

Zendure A2 for me - proved faultless / idiot-proof so far. Feels very solid but not overly weighty.

I have a tecknet 15000mha
http://cpc.farnell.com/tecknet/iep1500/ ... dp/BT05947

It says up to 8 charges of most smartphones. I've never tested it to depletion but its certainly done 3 of mine. My phone can last two days on airplane running strava and maverick mapping app, plus photos.

I may invest in one of these
ZNEX NOTSTRØM XT | 6800mAh Waterproof External Battery https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0171VJDWG/ ... JAbYF8ECN3

Hopefully will last in the rain.

I've got an Anker Powercore 10000, £20 on Amazon. I did have 2 but one has proved to be sufficient so gave one to a friend.

But Dave I keep killing batteries, the last one in one trip as I left a bag open and flooded it, I suppose I could wrap it in a bag or just be more careful.

I use Anker.
No problems yet.

Whilst not TLS, consider two small packs rather than one large.
Not much extra weight but gives redundancy

This is mine. As mentioned in a couple of threads about this place. Charges my edge 500 fine.

Nigel turned his nose up at my choice of powerbank in the past, but balls to him.

I usually carry 2 of these bad boys. Except I think they were on offer at £7.99 each when I bought them. Been using them regularly for over a year and they're still going strong.
