Burleywhag Bothy, anyone been?
Planning a trip there next week and was wondering what chance there is of finding fuel for the fire in the vicinity?
Re: Burleywhag Bothy, anyone been?
I was there last march.
No wood supplies near the bothy so best to carry some fuel in with you if possible.
I usually carry a couple of firelogs when going to bothies just in case theres no local wood.

Hi ripio, thanks, much as I suspected. Fire logs it is.

No fuel around. Visited once in the dead of winter with quite a weight of peat bricks for the stove. It was 3C when we we arrived and still 3C after we had burnt the bricks 4 hours later. I have since learnt that coal offers a lot more heat for weight than peat bricks!

The last mile or so is a proper bog Troy Ray, nice bothy though, we met a friendly wee mouse when we were there but the MO turned up next morning with poison!
