Does it feel like October everywhere?

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

or is ir just here?

We've had 2 frosts in the last week, there's that proper 'back to school' feel to the mornings and when it's not unseasonably cold ... it's lashing it down :???:

Pretty warm here, not cracking the flags but decent enough - borderline t-shirt weather for a non-Geordie. Cath wanted the windows opening last night due to the heat.

Also on holiday but in Pembrokeshire. 2 days of good weather but yeah today it slashed it down. Kids went off horse riding with their mum and got soaked. I stayed inside. :ugeek:

Nah, it's gone 9pm and I haven't had to put the lights on (yet). It'd be dark for a couple of hours now if it was October...

25th August 2017, that's when summer will restart. I finish my job, have a week off before the new one and will be in Devon with the ECR.....oh yes summer will return on the 25th :???:

Still mostly sunny and warm down here in Torbay. Riding in bib shorts and short sleeved jersey morning and evening no problem.

Add to that the fact that I can walk unaided and my backside isn't sore tells me I haven't just ridden the BB200, so it can't be October yet!

The wind changed direction a few days ago bringing in cooler, less humid air from the Pyrenees. It's a fresh 27°c today but has been in the mid 30's, we were at a beach party last night where the whole village decamps to the seaside 10km away to dance the night away. We took our camper down so we could both have a drink and rolled into bed at 4.00am when the youngster's disco started!! Tonight there's a dinner of mussels followed by fireworks.
We're just planning our viewing of the Vuelta a España which start on Saturday, this stage is top of the list.
https://postureocantabro.com/video-subi ... pana-2017/ the video is a real eyeopener seeing Pedro Delgado and Fernando Escartin struggling.
So it's not quite Autumn yet.

last week the temp hit 42c on one ride, this week seems lots cooler.

Although I'm sure the fact I was 900 miles further south then has little to do with it

Definitely more autumny than a couple of weeks ago, you notice the evenings drawing in quicker and the chill in the air on the morning. I'll soon be needing lights on my commute again.

I smelt snow in the air at home (Emmental, Switzerland) last week and got that autumn feeling. We got some snow above 2300 m. But now it's back to full on summer.
