single speed bike advice .....for bike polo

Started play bike polo, excellent fun, though do need a bike.

a few dedicated framesets, but nothing in the UK.

Given that many here ride single speed thought i'd ask for your opinion.
any suggestions?

want /need list.....
short wheel base, ideally weight far back
horizontal dropout
disc front fork
ideally aluminium frame /fork
ideally bolt thru fork
26inch, or 700c


if a complete bike.....
48 spoke front wheel
flat bars
front brake only, and left mounted


charge plug 1 disc looks ideal if can get as a frameset, or tweak the build

Where abouts do you play? Best bet is looking for something second hand in your local scene, otherwise something like a Pompino or Dolan pre cursa were the non-specific budget frame of choice.

Practice goes a lot further than a polo-specific frame too :)

Agree with ATK. Get a 2nd hand beater off eBay - dont worry about the disk brake, you will hardly use it after a while. A Specialized Langster with a short stem and riser bar would probably do too.

i have been using a second hand bike (the club loan bike)
that is how I know I want my own, and with a disc brake.
hence my seeking suggestions for a suitable single speed frameset
