Just ran the numbers, should be there by about 18:00 assuming I don't break a leg at Cannock Chase or something. Where are people planning on meeting?

Hawkshead Brewery - it's in the yard where the ride starts from, same place as the bike shop and Wilf's cafe. Note that the bridge in Staveley is still closed so you will need to take the road at the far end http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=346067 ... &A=Y&Z=120 of the village and head in that way

If the hand painted signs I saw at the weekend we'rent a lie, Bridge at Stavely is due to open this week - 1:15pm on Saturday I think.

Not that it helps much.

Bike packers in the pub /café (delete as appropriate)
Seems a daft question.

And surely last minute faffing is mandatory, no matter how well prepared in advance?

Looking very tenuous now for this weekend due to trouble breaking in the new boss. He is even threatening stopping me from lining up at Tyndrum the following weekend, which will lead to mutiny... Not a happy bear!

My mate and I will arrive very late on Friday so we'll miss the pub I'm afraid. We'll arrive and setup some stealth Bivis and get a few hrs kip. I'm riding out from Chester to meet him by the M6 so my gear setup should be tested ready to roll on Sat.

Weather looks gash but hopefully will clear up!!!!

Does the cafe by the start open early for breakfast I think RichM said he was negotiating an early opening?

Cheers/James

Hoping to be up in time for a relaxed pint....packing speed, faff factor and the traffic joy of driving up from the south coast allowing.

Hi all, just registered to try to pick up some tips in good time for Saturday :-bd

I'll be plodding along at the back trying to keep the pub goers in sight! Driving up Saturday morning, it's only an hour from home.

I'll now be along Friday night for a social, and that may be it. Other things need doing sadly. May have a beer and sleep in a ditch. Undecided.
