Weight - King Ti Manything cage vs Salsa Anything Cage V2

Post by polarcherry »

Very tempted to order two of the new King Ti Manything Cages as they weight bugger all 40g each!!!! and King Cage are really nice company but they are very very expensive.

Salsa quote the metal v2 anything cage weighs 98g (without straps) but i have read in forum posts that it weighs up to 175g each, which is a huge amount more.

One of you wouldn't be able tell me the actual weight please of the metal Salsa Anything cage V2???

:-bd in advance

Oooo.....thanks for that. 40% heavier than listed - how can they do that?

At least it's lighter than 172g!

Now are the Ti ones worth the cash splash......

I know the 1st version was a fair bit lighter (and would break when you were doing something interesting, like descending at speed)... There's the plastic version too but I think that's heavier again, if bombproof.

I wish they would bring back the Minimalist back rack - would be great for my cx (the seatpost clamp rack things give me the jibblies) but it had a product recall and died a death too...

.... or you could buy a 70g Gorilla Cage, which is far less likely to bend, snap or crack when you fall off

I had a lightweight Ti bottle cage once. It didn't last long. Gorilla cage is on my shopping list.

Already have a monki cage for my downtube filter bottle. But not keen on the gorilla cage. Plus it only has a 1.5kg weight allowance according to the website and I don't think it will mesh very well with my porcelain rocket bags.
