Quick routes on Exmoor

Post by flyingmonkeycorps »

Not bikepacking (sorry!) just general MTB routes, as close to the NW corner as possible. We're on hollybobs there next week and I'll be taking the bike to get a few rides in. Anyone know the area? Any recommendations for fun trails / routes I can do in 2-3 hours?

In NW Exmoor you are best sticking closing to the coast around Lynton for example. Great swoopy DH down to Lee Abbey andthe Valley of the Rocks from the A39.
Slightly further east, if you track inland there in another stunning DH run down the Doone valley to Couds Farm campsite.
The open moor in the NW can be very boggy with ill defined tracks but it's as good a time as any to ride there at the moment as everything is so dry.
If you are going through hell, keep going.
