C2c Hadrian’s wall

In brief (as I’m in a rush to get out and check the calving cows )planning to go coast to coast as close to Hadrian’s wall as we can and as much off road as possible,anyone got any links or suggestions please ,doesn’t matter if it means two nights away as I’ll be doing it with jnr my 12 yr old son .thanks in advance

I'm no help, but that sounds an interesting idea. Come back and post about it if you do it please - me and my 13 yo might give that a bash.

From my very minimal early doors research the nearest thing we can find at the moment is the sustrains reivers trail .had a busy couple of weeks so not had a real great opportunity to do some proper research.thought asking on here might help pool some more knowledge and guidance

Actually just realised that we did the bit of this route from the east coast to Newcastle when we got back off the Amsterdam ferry this September. It was a pretty good path, easy to follow with plenty of signs. That was a very urban bit though. I think we did it in just over an hour if I remember correctly.

There is a Hadrian's Cycleway, we've done it a few times from Bowness on Solway to Tynemouth.

Doable fairly easily in two days or in a longer day.
