Anyone made any 'pogies' ? hand warmer thingies ?

Post by Sarah »

So I am going to make a set of Pogies or Bear Paws, hand warmers to put onto handle bars, suitable for Reinards suffering cold weather weenies !

Just wondering if anyone has tried this, or uses some or has any other general thoughts or suggestions ?

Gotta do something on sick days.

I made a couple of sets the other year. One for me and one for my daughter. I made a cardboard template first. Used left over cordura and merino wool from old jumper for mine and waterproof material and fleece from old dressing gown for my daughter. I used a connecting piece of material between the two halves of my daughter's set. It made them more of a 3D shaped so they work better than my set. I left the top half of them long- go up my arm a bit more than the underside- which keeps me drier but still easy to get in and out of. I used a Velcro strap on the far end that goes over the brake leave- to allow my to cinch it down or vent depending on temp.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

I was going to and then found these for 7 quid - they turned up yesterday, they fit but not sure how warm or waterproof they will be. I have a horrible feeling they may act like a funnel!
