Sil net sil-nylon sealent/repair but a different use .......

Post by Adventurer »

I've used sil-net sealent and repair, to seam seal my lunar solo and I've also painted on strips onto my exped sleeping mat to stop it slipping on the floor of my lunar solo tent.

That go me thinking

If I'm using it to stop my exped sleeping mat slipping then maybe the sealent could solve another issue for me which I just have not found a solution for yet.

My alpkit and wildcat gear top tube backs keep slipping to the sides so they either touch my knees or just annoy me as I have to keep moving them back.

I've got some adhesive frame protector on but that's helped a little but my bags are still slipping to the sides.

Now what about if I paint sil-net sealent onto my top tube bags on the parts that touch the bike frame. Will it work the same as my sleeping mat and stop the slippage?

Well I've painted some on tonight, and I'll see if it works, and see how long it lasts. Worth a try and I'm surprised I never thought of this before.

Do you think this might just work?

Good idea, and I have the same problem. I'd try it, nothing to lose.
