Post by PJG »

I've finished the write-up of my recent jaunt around the hills and bothies of the Scottish Borders.
Hope you enjoy it

Great read and so pleased to have some other finishers which as you say will hopefully spur on some further attempts. Like the photos too. Thanks.

I enjoyed reading that. It looks quite pleasant in the pictures, I don't know why it's taken so long for the completions and why there were so many failed attempts beforehand

Great read and interesting to have your perspective of things.

At least 4 times on day 1 and a few times after I thought "that's the last I'll see if them!" As you pulled away from me.

It was surprising how evenly matched we seemed to be despite our different strengths and weaknesses (terrain/ time of day) I think that was a valuable lesson for future endeavours!

Nice write up Pete!

Defiantly gained a lot riding with you and Rob. So many times I thought I was going to be left in the dust only to find myself out in the front a few hours later feeling really strong. And then quite suddenly at the back of the pack again!

Also, for those looking for a modern/progressive/slack feeding technique: Pete's use of the ploughmans was pretty eye opening.

Considering this route myself next week whilst it's dry then maybe follow up with the capital trail. A 2 in 1 kinda ride. Where's best to leave a car for the duration?

Leave it right at the end point of the Borders 350 Mike. Nice little layby, often used by people out walking that way.

Closer to houses than I normally like, but I kipped 2 nights and had no issues.

Or use the car park just on the south side of the tweed over the bridge - its free and residents park cars in there so safe
