An HT-inspired tour

Post by Charliecres »

Back this morning from a Highland Trail inspired week’s tour. I started and finished in Dalwhinnie (due to limited train options) and basically did the lower two loops with the original start and minus the lollipop stick to/from Tyndrum. Amazing weather and incredible trails (You’re a genius, Mr G! :-bd )

For those about to do the route, I can say the bits I did are - right now - in very good nick. The Strath na Sealga crossing was knee deep and not even very cold.

I was amazed how much was rideable and was grinning like a loon for almost all of it. That Carnmore descent is off the scale. Won’t hurry back for a repeat of the Coffin Road or the second half of the Postie Path though.

Some random photos ...

Erm, probably. It’s the Aliexpress thingummy. I just took the fly with a lightweight splash- and midge-proof bivy bag. Worked very well.

U bugger! I was thinking of doing the Argyll Trail next week. I may seriously have to reconsider now
