Lovely, I now feel a little more justified in having spent the last 12 months telling anyone who'd listen and anyone who wouldn't, just what a fab bike this is. :-bd

You know how there's just some things that shouldn't be said? "Dave - I really enjoyed reading about you getting a fatty". This is one of those things.

Good read fella. Just keep in mind you don't say to Mrs B "Dear - you need to get fat to enjoy winter". You may not survive.

Great read. You have a certain way with words Mr Barter and these weren't even the sweary type.

I enjoyed that, makes me think about 650+ on the Stooge. The Cotswolds clag ain't much better than the infamous Wiltshire downs chalk. Did you run the stock tyres?

Surprised you got on so well with a semi  my 29* ECR has massive traction but still ground to a halt on sticky clay, I’m a bit further north than you in Oxfordshire but have been reduced to walking on the flat as the plus tyres picked up several kilograms of clag.
Back in my younger days we used to run narrow panracer smokes in the back end, on Kent’s chalk downs they would cut through the top layer and find a little traction. I’ve a set of 27.5+ wheels to fit the Fargo but I’m selling them, I’ve come to the conclusion that being on a one bike license (TM Mrs Dummy) 3” tyres have too many drawbacks.
