Ice Riding in Salop

Post by Scattamah »

Went out for a bite to eat and a few beers last night with Mike of the Shire. Icetastic on the way there. Mike stayed upright, whilst I opted for rear wheel lockup and a chance meeting with a bank of snow on the last descent before the pub. Chilly out last night...even under cover. Hellaciously icetastic this morning...right wrist still feeling the rewards of wet tires on 2" of ice. Mike might be along with pix as he was the man with the camera.

No tripping involved...but quite a bit of sliding on my behalf. Be glad when the ice has backed off.

After looking at pics I thought you'd cracked the whole nativity thing .... then I realised there's no virgins and certainly no wise men

 never been good at nativity pal. Just two cold and slightly damp, but well fed and beered up bikepackers sleeping under gods roof that night ;) we even said a prayer before we went to sleep. How good are we!

Yup...I gave thanks...Thank Dog I didn't go over on the ice again! That prayer wasn't answered next morning when, again, I went for a brief visit to the slippery floor.

Certainly no wise men...only jokers and fools need apply.

Sure...why not? It was that or dig out a footprint for the tent. After a few pints, I didn't fancy a dig.

Nothing wrong with it, I'm just amazed the church was open. They're usually locked (round here anyway)

Did you know it would be open, or just check on the off chance
