Re: Lightweight mat to replace Thermarest Ultralite

Postman recently delivered a KLYMIT V Ultralite Slim Sleeping Mat - used it on an overnight training mission between Dartmoor and Bodmin. Not as warm as a neo air but super comfy and pleased with the way it packs down to zilch

Re: More SP/revo woes...

Thanks all! I checked the wiring, restriped and attached the ends; Revo still playing up, but it was worth trying. I contacted Exposure and followed the service/warranty guidelines and within a couple of days of them receiving my unit they replaced it - they'd never seen so much water in one! As you...

Re: Highland Trail 550 - 2018

Hi all Anyone got an update on the Inchbae hotel - I read that its in new ownership and more bike friendly - anyone got direct experience of this? Plus last year I had good service for meals etc at OBH but read some less than enthusiastic posts compared to previous years. Is the OBH still the hostel...

Re: Average day - how much do you eat?

Me too for a fasting ride to commute to work with a porridge pot and banana a couple of times a week. Trying to get in the habit of coping without food for Scotland in May... Otherwise muesli and flaxseed with rice milk in the morning. Light and veggie at lunch time - maybe 400 calories worth. I hav...

More SP/revo woes...

Hello everyone! The bearings on my refurbished sp hub have worn out again - 2000km mainly off road in pretty wet conditions most of the time but more concern is my Revo light has started flickering badly with poor capacity and all sorts of issues with LEDs Normally just the two horizontal LEDs light...

Re: Cycle2Charge and other chargers/converters

I always charge a cache battery off my cycle 2 charge then recharge gps etc at night form the cache. I have carried a lunking great 10000mh battery in the past, but will probably try a 6000mh for this year. Ive had problems with usb connector on cycle to charge but had good backup service from Germa...

what carbon bike - or Ti

My Surly ogre is a bit heavy for some 'stuff' coming up next year; ie I have to be more race orientated. So looking for something quite different LBS does Cube and can offer me a good carbon Reaction at a good price - does anyone ride a Cube for bikepacking duties? BMC team elite and Trek Procaliber...

Re: The Bikepacker's Guide to not winning the Highland Trail

:-bd Just vaguely exciting. I remember the Glen Ling slither you mention, it made my bottom lip quiver, but at the road a local jumped out and shouted at me 'Highland 550?' I nodded from under my hood (It was lashing down) 'Then sir, I salute you!' and he stood parade erect and presented a sharp sal...
