Thank you all for the offers of help.
I've got one hopefully arriving from Amazon today, but if that doesn't arrive Adams got an old one I'm gonna use so should all be good.

BB200 HELP!
I'm completely useless. Setting off on the BB200 this weekend and can't find my GPS mount.
Does anyone going this weekend have a handlebar mount for a Garmin Dakota 20 laying around that they'd be willing to loan/sell to me?
Many thanks,
Ben.

Re: Pile / Pertex and the moon on a stick.
The Alpkit Morphosis is bloody brilliant. Packs up to the size of a mid-sized waterproof and will keep most of the elements out for a good while, then dries out very quickly. I definitely prefer my smaller snugger one for riding though, it's definitely more versatile snug than baggy. Definitely the ...

Re: New multi-tool and/or leatherman type thingy advice...
Topeak Ratchet Rocket and a Leatherman Crunch. The Topeak is the older version in a little plastic box, has all the Allen key bits you'd need, chain tool and tyre levers, and the plastic box clips to a bracket on my frame. The Leatherman Crunch has locking pliers, which is pretty much the only reaso...

What's the default GPS recommendation nowadays?
So my trusty Garmin Dakota 20 is finally getting to the end of its life, but I don't know what to replace it with? It used to be the case that the default recommendation was the Dakota if you wanted a touch screen and the etrex if you didn't, it seems more complicated than that now. A touch screen i...

WTD: Steel 29er fork + slick 29er tires - Big Apples or similar
Long time no post! I'm looking to pick up a steel 29er fork with rack mounts (salsa firestarter/surly ogre etc) for my other half's Cotic Solaris as we're going on a road tour this summer. It doesn't have to be pretty, can be tapered or straight steerer, QR or Thru Axle. I'm based in West Yorkshire ...

WTD: Steel road/CX/touring frame
Looking for something to build into a flat bar disc road bike, but with 35c tires (a style I am yet to come up with a name for  ). I'm 6ft1", but could actually oversize up to possibly a 60cm frame due to running flat bars on a drop bar length top tube. I've been looking at the following ...

If you really want steel, then forget this post!!! All the best. Thanks for the offer but my old man is very set on steel for this on...

As above really, something like a Vaya, Tour de fer, disc trucker, Ridgeback panorama etc. Not for me, for the old man.
Thanks in advance,
Ben.

Re: Naturehike tents ?
Spent 4 weeks in one last summer, really good tent. You will need to use the footprint virtually all the time as the floor is paper thin and punctures very easily. The only issue we had with it was that one of the guy lines pulled out of the seam it was sewn into, an easy fix but worth checking befo...

I ran a Vee Trax Fatty on the front and an Ardent 2.4 on the rear for the Highland Trail and will be again for the BB200, really good combo.

I used 32x11-40 on the HT550 and have since swapped to 34x11-42, gives me the same low gear and a slightly higher top gear.

The saddle bag is made of the same stuff!
Also, I was horrified by the condition of the bar tape, but I needn't have worried, he's carrying a spare couple of rolls
