Re: thunderstorm warning!

I was up your neck o’t’ Woods recently, hunting veloviewer squares, had a cracking pint of broadside in a random village pub somewhere near Aston le walls. We must organise an actual ride somewhere rather than just going to the pub on a bike :-bd Carpenters Arms, Lower Boddington at a guess. We cal...

Re: Tour Divide 2019

Back to race and I read on Dotwatcher.com: Alexandera had to return to Butte to get a replacement pedal after one broke - for the second time in short succession as she also broke one in Dirty Kanza XL I wonder if she replaced them both after the DKXL as I read on her blog that she only had $800 to ...

Re: ESTA for TD riders?

A year or so back I drove across the border from Canada to the US. Flicking through my passport the TSA guy spotted an entry stamp made within the previous 60 days on an ESTA. Great he said. Saves you parking and going through the office, which can take some time.

Re: Suffer or endure when the going gets tough?

This is the 2nd Worzul Gummidge alagy I’ve seen in two days. In the 1st the young lady resipient had to google the name to see how big an insult it was  My own take on this is it depends on where your heads at when you set out. I started last years BB200 thinking I was unprepared and unfit. It...

Thanks for the replies. I didn’t take any any criticism form the earlier posts. I just wanted to put across and alternative view.

As we well know. On the BB forum pandas rule :-bd

Re: Entry to Events

I have a job that is unpredictable as to when I’ll be away. In the past I’ve paid hundreds of pounds to enter events up to a year in advance and then been left out of pocket when unable to attend. In rare cases I’m lucky and have been able to defer to a later event. Now I just don’t bother with such...

Re: Winter Event ... entries open.

Looks like I may miss both the winter bivi and winter event by foolishly booking my charge into maintenance in Dallas between 16th Dec and 10th Jan. I have an entry paid for the winter event and if it looks likely that I won’t make it back then I’ll be offering it back to Stu to pass on. Mind you it...

Re: How to insert pictures

Just received an email from Flickr advising that soon my free account will be limited to an upload limit of 1,000 pictures. They of course suggest upgrading to their Pro account with 1st year discount, or downloading my pictures before they are deleted... I’ll be removing my camera backups and just ...

Re: BB200 planning

I wonder what was promised for the weekend at Nant Rhys? They'd only walked in on Friday from the bridge at the end of the broken road. The young lady didn't appear overly impressed at the comings and goings of bedraggled cyclists. I was the 5th visitor and stayed an hour trying to dry out my Toro a...

Rode out to the Chilterns on Saturday saying off-road where I could. Using the NCN 6 from Bletchley to Dunstable and the NCN 5 from Wallingford to Oxford. Less climbing than last weekend on the RTTS with double the distance Water was hard to come by, so I took to the old ways and drank ale  Usu...

Go up to them. Use your water to (try and) extinguish the fire, call the police as soon as you have network. Why bother taking photos from a distance and posting it on here..? I did such, without the police though, during a ride in a dry spell last year. They were really pissed. I said I was stayin...
