Re: Bivvy a month 2018.
Jan 18 - Surrey Hills 1/12 First BAM of the year completed and the first since spectacularly failing in June last year. I remember writing up 03/17 and saying the hard months were now done done and it was all down hill from here - well I didn't even get round to posting my WRT report or the one taki...

Re: Sussex bivi a month 2018
Hi Simon
Unfortunately I can’t make this weekend having got my BAM on sat in the Surrey hills. I would definitely be up for future months and riding some of your Sussex trails - where would you be riding?

I really enjoyed that thanks for posting.
Were you following a route you had prepared in advanced, a way marked circuit or making it up on the hoof?

Bar bag for gravel bike
Hello
Can anyone recommend a bar bag for my Pinnacle Arkrose. I have a Wildcat lion for the mtb and its more than capable of carrying 20 litres + of gear. I suspect it would work with lightweight summer kit between dropped bars but seems a little overkill for sub 10 litres.
Thanks
Ben

Re: Things I learned on the WRT
At 45 years old I am embarrassed to say I still can't read a map properly and the addition of a Garmin has not improved my navigation skills!
Anyone know of a guide who could teach me how to solve my embarrassing problem or am I beyond help and I should just accept being in a permanent state of lost.

Re: WRT thank you
Thanks stu and dee for a great weekend from the 3 WRT virgin bears. We had a fantastic time and great to meet so many fellow bearboners who all made us feel most welcome. Hopefully see you all soon.

Right choice Mick - I think Cycle to Work and autumn discounting are crippling secondhand values for sub £1,000 bikes

Re: Bivvy a Month 2017.
3/3 South Downs I was determined not to repeat the format of the first two BAM trips - riding from home has many positives but an hour plus of cycling through Surrey suburbia is not one of them ! I was working in Portsmouth on saturday so threw the bike and partially packed bags into the back of the...

Re: The Perfect Bike Packing Bike
Thanks for all your replies - I guess expecting a consensus was unlikely. I do understand the specialist bike thing already owning an adventure bike, hardtail, FS, tourer, shopper, hybrid, Eroica retro special and a pub/family bike!! However if you were setting off on adventure into the unknown sure...

The Perfect Bike Packing Bike
Since reading Stu's very positive reports on the Pinnacle Ramin and having to blow my fork upto 150 psi for winter bivvy trips (to stop them bottoming out on the handle bar bag) it has got me thinking n+1 and a dedicated bike packer. Any suggestions for the perfect bike packing bike? I know the stan...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2017.
2/2 Surrey Hills (again) Late post, but I did manage to make it out for February's BAM. Poor planning, a lads snowboarding trip and work meant I was always cutting it fine but IT issues delayed my planned friday night excursion until saturday with a much more miserable forecast. The weather was awfu...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2017.
1/12 - The Surrey Hills After a number of semi successful fair weather bivvy's and reading in awe some of the adventures on here, I thought it was time to step up to the plate and try and complete the 2017 BAM challenge. Here is my January attempt. A spell of relatively cold weather struck the south...
